Consisting of a simple girder bridge, this structure is the second crossing of four bridges over the Yahara River in Madison.
Built in 1900, the bridge is a simple 80' Span, resting on stone abutments. It was built for a single track.
It crosses just upstream of the Trail Bridge. This are once had four railroad crossings, all which still exist.
Overall, the bridge appears to remain in good condition.
The author has ranked the bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
The photo above is an overview. The bridge can be accessed from the parallel trail bridge.
